People and figures

Like I mentioned previously, I adore drawing the female figure. This is a sample of some of the drawings I've done semi-recently, oldest to most recent.

This was actually kinda fun to come across; I'd completely forgotten about it. I do have a finished version somewhere...

This was a sketch that originally was going to be a design for a book cover, but project never really got off the ground. It was still a good exercise though; I worked from a photo (the woman was clothed originally) and then added the flames.

I ended up doing a couple of drawings for my cousin and her boyfriend. I worked from a photo they had (not traced; just free hand).

They went to Paris, too, the lucky bums. Same concept; I worked from a photo, but did a more abstract version similar to the older style of simplistic ink drawing with pastel accents.

This was interesting; the inspiration came unexpectedly and I think I finished it in two days (it kind of shows). I just wanted to do something raw in expressing of self image and how people try to change/hide their appearance because they bind themselves to expectations and "beauty" ideals. Not the greatest thing I've done, but the work with pastel shading was a good exercise.

This is one of my most recent drawings. It started with just drawing a free hand female figure, but I couldn't get the head how I wanted so I cut it off and then... decomposed from there!
